MANNING SETS NEW LSR RECORD 367.382

Chris Carr just did a return run that resulted in and average for both runs of 367.382.  It will take a while for the FIM to ratify and make this time official, but that is a pretty spectacular time.
Denis must be really happy.  His liner certainly has potential and looks like the new tires worked [...]

Manning’s 7 makes run of 372.534 !!

Chris Carr just did a run of 372.534 at the SHOOTOUT 2009 at Bonneville.  That is the fastest one way time for a motorcycle.  The current world record is 360.913 set one year ago at this same meet.  Now the drama starts as the team has to make a run in the opposite direction within [...]

Denis Manning at Shootout 2009

The record was not broken at the Bub meet last month.  Denis Manning’s 7 with Chris Carr at the controls ended up with a fire that put them out for the rest of the event.  It seems that they had an exhaust problem and burnt through some of the plumbing.  Chris lost electrical and chutes [...]

LAST DAY OF BUB MEET

Today is the last day of the International Speed Trials by BUB.  The course will only be upen until 3:00PM today, so the crews were out early.
First to run was the 7 liner of Denis Manning.  At just a little after 8:30 AM, Chris Carr left the line for what appeared to be a good [...]

Mike Akatiff, the current record holder with Rocky Robinson driving/riding is on the salt, but is not entered in the event and not planning to run.  Mike told me today that they didn’t even bring any race gas [...]

DAY 3 – SLOW DAY FOR TOP ‘LINERS

The streamliners of Denis Manning and Sam Wheeler spent the day at the Bub Speed Trials waiting for the salt to dry while they worked on electrical gremlins.
Denis’ 7 streamliner developed problems in the electronic MoTec engine management system.  Rumors are that a crank sensor was acting up and they had to cannibalize parts from [...]

Day 2 of BUB Speed Trials is Over

The sun has set on the second day of the Bub Speed Trials at Bonneville. This was the first day that any serious runs were made. However the conditions were still a bit wet for any serious running by the big streamliners, and the wind came up late in the day.
Max Lamky did [...]
